Lauren Rainwater

Development Associate - Fundraising Events

Originally from Memphis, TN, Lauren brings a heart for service and a lifelong love for animals to the Shelter to Soldier team. She earned her B.S. in Sport and Leisure Management from the University of Memphis and began her career supporting endurance fundraising at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. That experience sparked her passion for mission-driven work.

In 2023, Lauren relocated to San Diego after visiting family stationed with the Navy and quickly felt at home in the supportive, military-connected community. A former competitive equestrian, she grew up surrounded by animals and has always felt most at peace with dogs, horses, and her rescue cat, Mowgli. She now spends her free time outdoors with her pup, Oliver—camping, hiking, or exploring new trails.

Lauren is proud to combine her nonprofit experience and love for animals in support of Shelter to Soldier’s mission.
