Development Assistant

Jessica’s journey has been driven by a deep passion for animals, nature, and making a meaningful impact. Growing up in a small suburb in Ohio, she developed an early love for the outdoors and wildlife that set the course for her future career.

Jessica attended Arizona State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a concentration in conservation and ecology, alongside a minor in sustainability. Throughout her academic journey, she worked in the pet industry, gaining experience as a dog groomer and later as a veterinary receptionist and supervisor. In 2023, her life took an exciting turn when she moved to San Diego to be with her husband, who serves in the Navy. Once in San Diego, Jessica took a role with the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, where she helped raise awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation. These experiences have reinforced her lifelong desire to help animals and make a meaningful impact.

Combining her deep love for animals with her personal connection to the military, Jessica is now excited to contribute to Shelter to Soldier, where her unique skills and experiences will help further the organization’s mission of rescuing and training dogs to support veterans in need.
