Joel Brambila, USMC and his service dog Duke graduated our program on August 22, 2019. It was an amazing ceremony, particularly because it was held on Duke’s 3rd birthday! These two are incredible ambassadors for our program, and we are so proud of their hard work and dedication to one another. Duke was adopted from our rescue partner, Thrive Animal Rescue, and was such a fun pup to have in our program. We are thrilled to be a small part of the big journey that these two have embarked upon together! Thanks to Duke’s sponsor, La Mesa Rotary, for making this success story a reality and for sponsoring Duke from the day of his adoption through his graduation.
“The entire team at Shelter to Soldier has contributed to allowing me to live my life again. To me, the entire team includes everyone from the front desk, training staff, and behind the scenes folks. Duke has challenged me and helped me overcome several mental walls that had previously stopped me completely.” – Joel Brambila, USMC
