Bandit is a spunky cattle dog mix adopted from the San Diego Department of Animal Services Central Shelter. The staff at the shelter thought Bandit would be a good fit for Shelter to Soldier™, and after evaluating this adorable pup, training director, Graham Bloem, agreed. Bandit is a happy, social guy and is definitely the class clown. This playful ball of energy loves to work hard during training for his favorite reward: playing fetch or tug. Bandit is now shining as a happy, trained pup with a job and we are so thankful that he has found his veteran match in Evan. Bandit’s adoption, care and training were generously sponsored by our Red Star Sponsor, The Charitable Foundation (Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, LA Chapter).

Evan Eskharia is a United States Marine Corps veteran who suffers from Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) after two combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Evan came to Shelter to Soldier for help, and quickly bonded with Bandit. The pair have been worked well together through handler training and recently graduated our program as veteran/service dog pair. We are very proud of the progress they have made together, and we are honored to be part of their journey!
