Hi! I’m Johnny! I’m a 1-year-old lab mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from Labs & More under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Cox Charities!
Johnny wasn’t always sure where he belonged — found as a stray in San Bernardino County, he’s been figuring out this big world one step at a time. But this week, everything clicked. Johnny met his veteran, and we think it’s the beginning of something really special.
Matt served in the U.S. Navy, deploying to Bahrain and Jabal Ali in the Middle East as part of Operation Southern Watch from 1996-1997. He walked through our doors energetic, joyful, and ready to do whatever it takes, exactly the kind of spirit Johnny needs in a partner. Together, they’ll work on building confidence in crowded spaces, peaceful nights, and the freedom to make lasting memories with the people they love most.
Johnny is logging public access hours around Oceanside, sharpening his task cues, and soaking up every lesson his trainer Hailey throws his way. The STS family says he reminds them of the legendary Palmer — and we think he’s well on his way to carving out a legacy all his own.
