Hi! I’m Daphne! I’m a 1-year-old husky mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from April Star Adoption Foundation under the generous Red Star sponsorship of Ron Cadwell.
I’m confident charismatic and slightly dramatic in the most lovable way. I’m a husky, so obviously I come with big personality, expressive faces, and just a touch of theatrical flair. If I wasn’t busy training to become an incredible service dog, I’m pretty sure I’d be starring in The Secret Life of Pets 3. Pixar energy? Absolutely. Sidekick energy? Never heard of her!
I walk into a room like I own it with my tail high, ears forward, ready to see what’s happening and who’s holding snacks. Speaking of snacks… I do love them. If you have one? Amazing. We’re best friends. If you don’t? No hard feelings. I’ll simply continue my networking tour to locate the nearest potential treat distributor. It’s called initiative.
Underneath the star power and snack radar is a smart, capable pup who’s learning to channel all that bold energy into purpose. I’m confident, people-focused, and quick to learn. I thrive on engagement and connection, which makes me a natural for service work. I’ll be a hero to one of our heroes!

Hi! I’m Rookie! I’m a 1-year-old pointer mix adopted from April Star Adoption Foundation under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Sean Cocchia.
I was found abandoned on the streets of Bakersfield, CA as a tiny puppy, but some amazing humans rescued me and nursed me back to health. Now, I’m full of joy, love snacks, and give full-body wiggles to anyone who looks my way.
I’ve got a special heart-shaped patch on my right side (the STS family think it’s fate since I was adopted the day before Valentine’s Day), and I’m learning something even more special…I’m training to be a service dog! I’m practicing my skills so one day I can help a veteran in need, but in the meantime, I’ll keep spreading happiness and wiggly love wherever I go!

Hi! I’m Penelope! I’m a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from April Star Adoption Foundation by the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Logomark!
I’m the sweetest, softest soul you’ll ever meet! If you sit down, I’m coming over. If you open your arms, I’m giving you a hug! And if you start petting me? I’m melting. Fully. Like a little puddle at your feet. Belly up, eyes soft, completely trusting you with everything I have. I don’t just like affection, I thrive on it.
Because of my breed, I’m quick as a whip and love having a job to focus on. I pick things up fast, and I’m already progressing beautifully in my service dog training. I’m learning how to channel my sweet, sensitive nature into steady, reliable support. The kind that could one day make a veteran feel safe, grounded, and understood. I have the heart and the brains for it too!

Hi! I’m Deacon, a 1.5-year-old Labrador retriever the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from our friends at Labs & More under the generous sponsorship of an anonymous donor!
I’ve got tons of energy, so I’m happiest when I’m out on walks, running around, or playing fetch! But I also love curling up for cuddles when the day winds down.
I’m friendly with everyone I meet, whether it’s humans or other dogs, and I’ve got a knack for making people smile with my goofy antics. I love learning new things, especially when treats are involved, and I’m eager to please. I think I’d make an amazing service dog because I’m loyal, attentive, and always ready to be a steady service dog for a veteran in need.
Hi! I’m Liberty! I’m a 2-year-old boxer mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from Labs & More under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Sean Cocchia
I’ve already had an important job in my life—I was a mom to 6 puppies and I took that role very seriously at my foster home. I cared for my puppies with patience and love. But now, I’m stepping into a brand-new purpose. I’m training to become a service dog, and I couldn’t be more ready!
I’m as sweet as they come and I truly love people. When I meet someone new, my whole body wiggles with excitement, but I’m gentle and affectionate. I’m still working on my commands and polishing my manners, but I’m eager to please and quick to learn. I love having direction and a purpose—it gives me confidence. My trainers say my loving, steady nature will take me far!
I’m ready to become a loyal partner, a steady presence, and a girl with a big heart ready to change a veterans life!
Hi! I’m Cooper! I’m a 2-year-old lab mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from our friends at Labs & More under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Logomark!
I was fostered with a trainer before coming here, so I already have some great social skills under my belt—and I’m very food-motivated (seriously, I will do just about anything for a treat)! I really want a job and I’ve got that classic Lab energy to prove it, so finding my place here feels just right. My future is looking pretty bright, and I’m so happy to be part of the program.
Right now, I’m healing from a mild case of kennel cough—which I’m told is pretty common for new rescues like me—but as soon as I’m feeling 100%, I promise there will be plenty of updates about how I’m settling into my new home with Shelter to Soldier.
I love people more than anything, and I like to carry a toy everywhere I go—it’s kind of my thing. I also love being picked up… even though at 90 pounds, that can be a bit of a workout for the humans. I can’t wait to show everyone how much I grow and learn from here!

Hi! I’m Johnny! I’m an 8-month-old lab mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from Labs & More under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Cox Charities!
I was found as a stray in San Bernardino County, and I’ve been exploring this big world ever since. I’m a calm and curious pup, always checking things out at my own pace alongside my trainer, Hailey. I’m pretty tall, and some of the STS family say I remind them of Palmer, a super cool and smart service dog who graduated before me with his dad, Trevor! I’m learning every day and can’t wait to show off my future skills as a service dog!
Hi! I’m Jack! I’m a 9-month-old hound mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from Thrive Animal Rescue under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of SD Botox!
I’m a big puppy and I love to run around everywhere I go! I may look like a big dog, but the training team doesn’t see me growing any bigger, so I’ll always look like a permanent puppy! My trainer, Hailey, and I have a lot of fun during our training sessions. She’s taught me heel, sit, place, and down, and everyone is amazed at how quickly I learn the commands. I’m going to become a great service dog someday!
Hi! I’m Shadow! I’m a 1.5-year-old terrier mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from Labs & More under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Vulcan Materials Company!
When the training team spotted me, they couldn’t help but do a double-take! Wouldn’t you agree that I resemble a service dog trainee, Duke? We’re like brothers! However, I’m a bit different because I love to play but can also settle down for some cuddles. Since I’m on the smaller side, I’d make the ideal companion for a veteran who needs a travel buddy!

Hi! I’m Reign! I’m a 1.5 year old terrier mix, the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from The Animal Foundation under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Jack & Nanci Simkin!
When I had been found wandering the Las Vegas desert, I wasn’t in the best condition. I was covered in dirt, my nails were too long, and I had very dirty paws! Luckily, I knew I was in good hands but unfortunately, came down with a respiratory illness in a matter of days and had a rough few months. It wasn’t long before the trainers at Shelter to Soldier found out about me and drove 4+ hours to come see me! After a thorough trainer evaluation, I was off to my new home, the Wings of Freedom Campus! As I’m settling in, I’ve captured the hearts of everyone who see’s my famous head tilt. I’m sure that’s how I’ll find my veteran someday!
