Hi! I’m Reign! I’m a 1.5 year old terrier mix, the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from The Animal Foundation under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Jack & Nanci Simkin!
When I had been found wandering the Las Vegas desert, I wasn’t in the best condition. I was covered in dirt, my nails were too long, and I had very dirty paws! Luckily, I knew I was in good hands but unfortunately, came down with a respiratory illness in a matter of days and had a rough few months. It wasn’t long before the trainers at Shelter to Soldier found out about me and drove 4+ hours to come see me! After a thorough trainer evaluation, I was off to my new home, the Wings of Freedom Campus! As I’m settling in, I’ve captured the hearts of everyone who see’s my famous head tilt. I’m sure that’s how I’ll find my veteran someday!
Hi! I’m Boomer! I’m a 1 year old shepherd mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from Wags and Walks under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Vulcan Materials Company!
Before I came to Wags and Walks, I was found wandering a neighborhood in Bakersfield where I had been taken in to get care from animal services. Soon after being transported to Wags and Walks, the Shelter to Soldier team wanted to meet me after hearing about my service dog potential! Not too long after, I took a mini roadtrip and moved into the Wings of Freedom Campus. It’s taken me no time to settle in! I love to to train, chomp on some chicken, and play with the squeaky toys. I’m gonna make a big difference one day!

Hi! I’m Juno! I’m a 1.5 year old pointer lab mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from Labs and More under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of The Promotions Dept.!
Juno, previously named Maple, was brought in with her puppies by Good
Samaritan, found at the Cherry Auction in Fresno. Her puppies had all tested for parvo, had kennel cough, and all were immediately cared for. After being cared for at the Fresno Humane Animal Services, CeCe at Thrive Animal Rescue here in San Diego, pulled her and continued to care for her on the ranch.
The Shelter to Soldier training team had an eye out for a few potential service dogs at Thrive Animal Rescue, but it wasn’t until the arrived at the ranch where they learned about Juno. After conducting the initial service dog evaluation, Juno, showed great strengths for becoming a service dog and brought her to her new home, the Wings of Freedom Campus.
Since joining the STS family, Juno has settled in quite nicely. She’s a snuggle bug, loves treats, and is the perfect size for a veteran who might travel often given her petite stature. We can’t wait to watch her growth in this new journey!

Hi! I’m Farky! I’m an 8 month old pitbull mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from a good samaritan under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Deborah Ashton!
Farky and her siblings were rescued from a homeless encampment where her, her mom, and her siblings were left inside a crate inside a tent in Oceanside. When the homeless couple moved on, rescuers collected Farky and her family within 24 hours and all of them were healthy and well-fed. Her fosters, Kerri and Tom, took great care of Farky and enrolled her into a training program where she learned all her basics and wonderful public manners.
Farky is now settling in and we can’t stop loving on her! She’s gonna be perfect as a service dog for a veteran in need.
Farky is named in loving memory of her sponsor’s late son’s childhood dog.

Hi! I’m Witt! I’m a 1-year-old Labrador the Shelter to Soldier team adopted our friends at Labs & More under the red star sponsorship of David C. Copley Foundation!
I’m eager to learn and love rubbing up against you for scratches. I have the best time splashing in the sprinklers at the park, and overall I’m just a sweet, happy boy. I’m also hard at work training to be a service dog for my veteran, but I still know how to have plenty of fun along the way!

Hi! I’m Reed! I’m a 1 year old labrador mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted our friends at Labs & More under the red star sponsorship of SD Botox!
I’ve got lots of energy and can be a bit of a goofball, but once I get my zoomies out, you’ll usually find me stretched out on the couch soaking up all the pets I can get. I live for attention and love making people laugh with my silly personality. I’ll be the perfect service dog for a veteran who needs plenty of laughter!

Hi! I’m Bruno! I’m a 1 year pitbull mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from a shelter in Arizona under the red star sponsorship San Diego Self Storage.
I’m a gentle soul for my age and showing great potential as a psychiatric service dog for a veteran in need of grounding and support. Thanks to my height, I may also be a good fit for someone who needs a little mobility assistance too! I’ve been having the best time with my trainer, Emily. She takes me everywhere! So far, my favorite outings have been to the beach and our local park. I’m picking up my basic commands quickly (treats definitely help!) and I’m right on track in my service dog training journey.
