The Shelter to Soldier team adopted Dempsey from our friends at Labs & More under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Dempsey Construction. Like many labs, Dempsey loves to play fetch and will do anything for treats – the perfect combination for a service dog trainee! Under our care, Dempsey earned his sweet nickname “Dimples.”
Adrianna is a US Army veteran who served 8 years as a combat medic. For her, being around dogs has always been therapeutic and Dempsey is just what she needed to continue her healing journey. According to their trainer, Kayla, Adrianna was very dedicated to her program with a positive and eager attitude, and she could see that Adrianna’s days would become brighter each time she interacted with him.
Adrianna & Dempsey celebrated their graduation together on November 13th, 2023 alongside the Dempsey Construction team and Adrianna’s supportive family.
