Lady Liberty was adopted from the San Diego Department of Animal Services in Carlsbad. She was there for a little over a month and had already been adopted and returned because she was pestering livestock. This energetic pup was just in need of a job to keep her out of trouble! She loves people and the shelter staff was so pleased that she’d be entering our program and fulfilling a greater life purpose. Liberty has been generously sponsored by our Red Star Sponsor, Mission Beach Women’s Club.

In December 2018, Liberty graduated our program with Aaron Neely, a Navy veteran. Aaron and Liberty have a very special bond. We are so proud of these two!

“Liberty has been a game changer!  Before her I was barely leaving the house alone and struggling to connect with anybody outside my immediate family.  Since entering the program I have found new confidence and a desire to experience life.  I’m reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.  Previously, I felt as if I was dying of a mental illness. Now,  I feel like I am really living.” – Aaron Neely, USN Ret.
