The Shelter to Soldier team adopted Oliver from our friends at Labs & More under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of David C. Copley Foundation. Oliver stole our hearts with his puppy-like personality and his endless wiggles.
Tim joined the United States Marine Corps in 2001 and served for 21 years. Towards the end of his service, he realized he needed help as he was suffering from PTS, hypervigilance in crowds, and experienced difficulties sleeping. Luckily for him, his loving wife, Jennifer, found us on social media and prompted Tim to apply for our psychiatric service dog program. When Tim was going through our speed dating process, he knew immediately that Oliver was the dog for him. Throughout the program, Jennifer and their 2 children have remained a strong support system for the team.
Tim and Oliver’s journey was celebrated by Tim’s family and the staff at Shelter to Soldier on May 11th 2024 at Buddy Todd Park in Oceanside. We know the sky’s the limit for this dynamic duo!
