Julio is a 4 year old pit bull mix we adopted from (the former) San Diego Department of Animal Services Central Shelter. After adopting Julio, we learned he had Parvovirus. He healed in our program, and went on to do big things! On August 20th, 2020 he graduated our program with his veteran handler, Matt Newcomb, US Army Ret. as a psychiatric service dog! We are so proud of how far Julio has come since the day we adopted him. He has a genuine appreciation for his life and his journey to find Matt. Julio was generously sponsored by the David C. Copley Foundation, who have gone on to sponsored two other dogs through our program – Grace and Buddy!
