The Shelter to Soldier team adopted Jupiter from our friends at Thrive Animal Rescue, under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Dempsey Construction–their 2nd dog! The moment our team saw Jupiter on socials, we had to go get him so we connected with our friends at Thrive who had just picked him up from the Carlsbad Shelter.
Jeremy met two dogs before but once he saw Jupiter, he was intrigued by his wolf-like appearance and immediately knew he was the one for him! Even after Jeremy brought along his wife and children, he knew Jupiter would be the perfect 1st dog for his family. After successfully completing on-site lessons as an ESA team, Jeremy officially took Jupiter home on September 5th, 2024 and has been settling in just fine.

“Jupiter is the name of my newly adopted Emotional Support Animal. He is a “super mutt” which is comprised of German Shepherd, Terrier, and numerous other dogs. He is named Jupiter because of his enormous personality combined with his huge smile!

I am an Active-Duty Marine who is currently changing career paths from active-duty marine to civilian employee. This period of my life has brought unforeseen feelings.  There were times where I felt really depressed, anxious and just wanting to be alone. The presence of Jupiter has transformed my outlook on my transition. Daily routines have become more manageable, our morning and evening walks have become more enjoyable. We have become social with our neighbors and community. Through our bond, we have rediscovered joy and purpose, learning to navigate throughout this mysterious time. Thank you to everyone at Shelter to Soldier for everything that you do for our veterans, and Jupiter has been such a blessing. Thank you.”
