Brian split his time growing up in St. Pete Beach, Florida and Des Moines, Iowa. He has been in the United States Marine Corps since he was nineteen years old. Brian’s career in the Marines has been quite varied with jobs ranging from Recon Marine to F/A-18 Hornet pilot to Strategic Planner at United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM); he has made three combat deployments to Iraq. Brian graduated from the University of South Florida in 1997 majoring in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. His life changed dramatically when he rescued a little earless dog from Iraq named Nubs. With expert dog trainer Graham Bloem’s help, Nubs has adjusted to life in the United States quite well.

In July 2012 Brian was assigned to duty near his hometown in Tampa, Florida. He works at USSOCOM and lives in St. Petersburg, Florida. Brian is an accomplished marine that has honorably served our country and he is a NY Times Best Selling author of “Nubs: The True Story of a Mutt, a Marine & a Miracle.”
