Location: Schubach Aviation, Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad, CA, United States

Shelter to Soldier™ service dog Charlie, sponsored by Schubach Aviation, will be graduating our program with Marine Corps veteran Liz Carmouche. Liz spent five years in the Marine Corps as an aviation electrician, during which time she did three tours of duty in the Middle East. Following her military service, Carmouche became a professional MMA fighter, and she competed in the first-ever MMA match in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) when she competed against Rhonda Rousey for the UFC women’s bantamweight championship. Carmouche is currently the number 8 ranked 135-pound female MMA fighter in the world, according to the Unified Women’s MMA rankings.

Schubach Aviation was Shelter to Soldier™’s first corporate sponsor, and continues to support their mission annually with their one-cent-per-mile program. Their sponsorship allowed us to adopt Charlie from Rancho Coastal Humane Society, and train him to become a psychiatric service dog for Liz.

Attendance to this event is by invitation only out of respect for our veterans.
