Hi, I’m Kobe! I’m a 10-month-old pitbull the Shelter to Soldier training team adopted from Wags & Walks under the generous Red Star Sponsorship, UNITE!
My road to where I am today isn’t a simple one. I was loved by a family that had put real time and effort into training me. But life had other plans. When the family lost their father, everything changed. In the middle of their grief, caring for me became more than they could manage, and they made the incredibly hard decision to relinquish me to Wags and Walks.
What I know is this: Wags and Walks took care of me, and then something wonderful happened, I was adopted into a service dog program alongside Rooney. All that training my first family poured into me? It didn’t go to waste. It’s part of who I am, and now I get to channel it into something meaningful, showing up every day for a Veteran who needs me.
