Butterscotch

Hi! I’m Butterscotch! I’m a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd/Corgi mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from April Star Adoption Foundation under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Elizabeth Mueller.

I was left unclaimed at a shelter, but lucky for me, I found my way into an amazing program where I get to do what I love best…bring joy to people! I’m super food-motivated, full of energy, and ready for all kinds of adventures.

I’m training to be a morale dog, which means one day I’ll deploy on a Navy vessel to provide comfort and support to sailors. At just 35 pounds, I’m the perfect size for life at sea, and I can’t wait to make everyone smile. Training with me is going to be a blast! Get ready for wagging tails, playful antics, and lots of snacks!

Hi! I’m Dawson! I’m a 1-year-old labrador retriever the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from our friends at Labs and More under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Logomark!

I might be calm and docile, but I’ve got a heart full of love and a knack for making people feel better—especially in stressful situations. Right now, I’m working with my trainer, Hailey, on lots of public training! I’m getting used to all sorts of new sounds, textures, smells, and meeting lots of different people.

Eventually, I’ll take what I’ve learned out to the Navy vessels, helping sailors feel comforted and boosting morale during deployments. I love being calm, steady, and friendly, and I take pride in being a source of comfort wherever I go. I may be gentle, but my love and loyalty are as big as the ocean!

Hi! I’m Raider, a 2 year old lab mix adopted from Labs & More! I have a VERY special job where I’m training to be a Ship Morale Dog! I’ve already visited some crewmen on USS Makin Island shortly after adoption and you can tell I’ve been the talk of the ship since then! I’m already so great at my new job, all I want to do is say hi to everyone and as soon as I see someone, I’m asking for belly rubs.

Hi! I’m Lady! I’m a 2 year old lab mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from Labs & More under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of the Mission Beach Women’s Club!

When I was adopted, I was lucky enough to be fostered by one of the amazing volunteers at Shelter to Soldier. I originally began training in the psychiatric service dog program, but after some time, the Shelter to Soldier Board of Directors and the Mission Beach Women’s Club saw my potential to make an even bigger impact. That’s when I made a career change and proudly became the second official Shelter to Soldier Morale Dog!

Now, I’m getting ready to visit the USS Boxer as part of my transition to living on board full-time. I’m beyond excited for this new chapter and can’t wait to bring comfort, smiles, and a little extra joy to everyone aboard the ship.
