Hi! I’m Ernie! I’m a 7-month-old Chocolate Lab Mix the Shelter to Soldier team adopted from Labs & More under the generous Red Star Sponsorship of Rachel & Samantha. I was just adopted a few weeks ago and I’m bursting with puppy energy and excitement for my new home. I absolutely love chasing balls and can’t resist a tasty snack. Right now, I’m in the process of learning basic commands and manners—I’m a quick learner and doing my best to be a good boy! My big goal is to become a service dog for a veteran, and I’m on the right path to making that happen. Every day is a new adventure, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me!

I’m the 2nd dog they’ve sponsored for the Shelter to Soldier program! I’m a big, goofy, and playful pup and I love to bring joy wherever I goes. When I’m not chasing the flirt pole or chewing on my favorite toys, you can find me cuddled up with our STS family, soaking up all the love. I’m thrilled to be one of the newest recruits at Shelter to Soldier. I’m full of spunk and playfulness, always radiating happiness! I’m the sweetest trainee you’ll ever meet! I might act like an old man, but I can’t resist a good game of fetch—I even get happy feet while waiting for my trainer to throw the ball. Car rides, sniffing around, and rolling in the park are some of my favorite activities.
When it comes to training, I’m focusing on manners, luring, obedience, and exposure. I’ll do anything for a treat! The team is thrilled to watch me grow and can’t wait to see what I accomplish.
